Pamela C. Schwenke, a member of the Senior Executive Service, is the Associate Deputy Assistant Secretary for Contracting, Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Acquisition, Washington, D.C. She assists the Deputy Assistant Secretary in carrying out responsibilities for all aspects of contracting related to the acquisition of weapon systems, logistics support, materiel and services for the Air Force.
Ms. Schwenke, an Alabama native, entered government service with the Air Force in 1981 as a systems accountant at Vandenberg Air Force Base, Calif. She transferred into the contracting career field in 1984, serving as a cost price analyst and warranted contracting officer supporting a variety of major weapon systems. Her experience also includes several tours in the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Acquisition, Washington, D.C., where she supported Program Executive Officers in the development of key acquisition strategies and source selection documents for the Service Acquisition Executive. She also served as the Deputy Director of Contracts for the Joint Strike Fighter program, Director of Contracts for the Space Radar program and the Head of the Contracting Activity for the Executive Office of the President.
Prior to her current position, she served as the Deputy Director of Budget Programs at the Secretary of the Air Force Budget Office. In this position, she formulated, defended and executed the $127 billion annual Air Force budget.
