2005 JWOD Outstanding Contributions Award Recipients

Ms. Brown believes that JWOD Program employees provide critical, real-time mission support to our nation's Warfighters. Over the past 15 years, she has created more than 500 jobs for people with severe disabilities through the JWOD Program in such contracts as Installation Food Services, Airfield Alert Services, Washer/Dryer Maintenance, Grounds Maintenance, and Warehousing.

Over the past 24 years Ms. Crewe-Bacon has created 50 job opportunities for the JWOD Program on such products as the scissors jack, terminal lugs, which are used in more than 140 different weapon systems, and with such services as the warehousing and distributing various batteries.

Over the past 12 years, Mr. Kromis has created jobs for 400 JWOD employees on such products as the new Army Improved Physical Fitness Uniform, the new Air Force Physical Training Uniform, and accessory items; and such services as the warehousing and distributing of recruitment clothing items throughout eight states.

Over the past 15 years, Ms. Lee has created employment for nearly 70 people who are blind or have other severe disabilities through such services as Barksdale AFB's first postal services contract, a commissary shelf stocking contract and two laundry contracts.

 

 

Thomas J. Bouchard

Mr. Bouchard has oversight responsibilities for all equipment and supplies purchased by the Natick Contracting Division. Under his leadership, JWOD Program opportunities at Natick increased dramatically: from $5.1 million in contracts in 2000, to $65 million in contracts and 750 full time equivalent positions for people who are blind or have other severe disabilities by 2004. Over the last seven years, Mr. Bouchard has awarded contracts to the JWOD Program for such items as uniforms; helmets; boots; and specialty items, such as fleece jackets and silk weight underwear, used by the Special Operations Forces. Mr. Bouchard also educates other Federal employees about the JWOD Program at seminars in which he participates; and he continually considers the challenges and future for JWOD participation in soldier support contracts.
